Feel free to share this post...

I spotted this happy crew singing “This Land is Your Land” for 74 hours straight in front of Horizon Books downtown. No, I wasn’t there for 74 hours. Just passing through on my way to see “Irrational Man” at the State Theatre.

The “Song For Hope Marathon,” sponsored by Buckets of Rain in Empire, Michigan, is designed to help the under-served in Detroit and Guatemala by helping to increase food security through vegetable gardening and blight removal.

It’s the group’s third annual “Song for Hope Marathon,” and it runs from August 20 – 23, 2015. Yep, 74 hours of Woody Guthrie’s “This Land is Your Land.” What could be better?

So if you wander by there, feel free to join in for a round or two, and help out by donating over here or on the Buckets of Rain website. Also follow the group on Facebook.
