My friend Nancy Davy posted this photo of a tree toad on her window the other night, and I was immediately fascinated and smitten! It looks like a cartoon character.

Nancy asked if I’d ever seen a tree toad on the Peninsula, and in all my years (56 and counting), I couldn’t remember ever seeing one.

Growing up in Old Mission, we used to see those bumpy brown land-dwelling toads all the time. They loved to blend in with my mom’s flower bed along our front walk, and some of them were pretty big.

Do you have tree toads at your place on the OMP? Sound off in the comments section at the bottom of this post. Here’s another photo from Nancy of some tree toads in her yard a couple of years ago.
