Our “home barn” just north of Mapleton has been photographed and painted a lot from the front, but while two-tracking with Mom after church today, I noticed how beautiful the backside of the barn is. My dad always took good care of the barn, and now my brother, Dean Johnson, is continuing the tradition.
And it’s been so lovely having horses in the barn again, thanks to Lori Gilbert and other neighbors (who also take very good care of the barn – thank you!).
We need your support...
At a time when newspapers across the country are dying in droves, small community newspapers like Old Mission Gazette are the wave of the future. Owners Tim and Jane Boursaw are devoted to the Old Mission Peninsula community, and our editorial independence means we set our own agenda and voice our own opinions. But we need your ongoing support to keep delivering Old Mission Peninsula news, history, photos and more. We rely on generous reader support to keep doing what we do, and every contribution, big or small, is valuable. Click HERE to support Old Mission Gazette. Thank you!
