Here’s the sign for the Old Mission Post Office, nestled quietly next to the Legion Hall across the road and catacorner from Haserot Beach. The post office used to be in the same building as the Old Mission General Store, but moved to the Legion Hall at some point in the past decade or two.
When it was at the store, Lois Manigold was the postmistress, and we used to walk the babies up there (well, we’d walk and they’d ride in a stroller – we were staying at Mom and Dad’s at the time) and Lois would weigh the babies on the post office scale. Good times.
