I love the “grape sweaters” that show up at vineyards this time of year. I’m not well-versed in winery stuff, but I think the grapes are left on the vines longer and are then made into ice wines…? Someone tell us in the comments below. Does the mesh protect the grapes from birds and other critters as they ripen into the fall?
I snapped this photo while walking past Brys Estate Vineyard and Winery today. There are notes posted on the end of some of the rows, which I’m assuming indicate which wines those particular grapes will be made into.
