Local jazz pianist Jeff Haas has been playing on Sunday afternoons at Chateau Chantal all summer, but with taking mom to church and then lunch and then getting some work done yada yada, time slipped away from me. I did get this pic with Jeff, Claudia Schmidt and friends in September.
So when my daughter, who works at Chateau Chantal, texted me to say he was there and this was his LAST DAY of playing on Sunday afternoons, I raced up there to grab a photo (and that was a couple weeks ago!). During the summer, the Jeff Haas Trio also plays “Jazz at Sunset” on Thursday nights (his 22nd year!), with a variety of musical guests.
Jeff also has a very cool project called Building Bridges With Music, designed to address bullying and foster respect in the schools, the workplace and greater community. It may be 2015, but we need these kinds of programs more than ever. Thank you for nurturing this in our community, Jeff.
