Here’s another photo from my Lighthouse excursion the other day. This was taken at the first turn-off on the left past that open space where you can see West Bay as you head out towards the Old Mission Lighthouse.
If you look closely, you can see the buoy in the distance in the upper right part of the photo. My husband jumped off the top of that buoy once in his younger days. He said it’s the dumbest thing he’s ever done, and looking back, he’s surprised he survived. But it was worth it because his friend Joe Curths chickened out (and that’s saying something because there were few risks that Joe wouldn’t take!).
Wow, wonder what happened to ‘Mad Marvin’-aka- Joe Curths…we bunked up many times out of town when we were Bendix Boys.
Also wonder what happened to Tug, Ned, and Denni Whaley…best partyin’ I ever done was with the Penniny Gang in the late 60’s, early 70’s. God bless those ruffians!
