My son Will was up from MSU for a few days, so of course, we went to lunch with Mom. Here he is with my mom, Mary Johnson.
She was a southern girl who met my dad, Walter Johnson, at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He asked her to marry him, and the city girl became a country farm wife, moving to Old Mission in 1946. It must have been a culture shock for her, but I’m sure she took it in stride, as she does everything.
