If you go by the corner of Peninsula Drive and Old Mission Road, you’ll see all sorts of cool artwork and sculptures by artist Eddie Ligon, who lives on the farm there with her husband Lenny Ligon. Here’s a picture of some chickens painted on the side of this little building. I’m not sure if it’s a chicken coop or not, but I’m guessing maybe.
This is the old Tompkins farm. There’s a great old house there, and my earliest memories include stopping by there to see Grandma Bartko (Emily), who was taking care of the elder Murray Tompkins at the time. This was probably in the late 1960s, early 1970s.

Same here. Every time I go by there, seems like there’s some cool new artwork on a building! – Jane

Thank you for sharing this! I love that place! So nice to know some of the history.
I’m repainting it this year…something a little less “folksy”.
Whatever it is, I’m sure we’ll love it! – Jane
