Photo of the Day: April 16, 2016 – Poppycock’s in Downtown Traverse City

We had a two-for-one coupon for Mackinac Brewing, but the place was packed (as in, “an hour’s wait” packed), that  we went down the street to Poppycock’s and had a great meal.

It was also crowded, but there was room for us at the bar, which is where I took this photo of someone’s pretty drink down the way. We also were fascinated watching the drink-maker mix drinks. It looks very complicated!

Oh, and on the drink board in front of us was a wine from Two Lads Winery on the Old Mission Peninsula. We’re everywhere. Check out Poppycock’s website here.

A lifelong resident of the Old Mission Peninsula, Jane grew up on a cherry farm (Johnson Farms), married the boy next door (Tim Boursaw), and raised two kids there (Will and Marissa). Her 35-year career as a photojournalist includes bylines with the New York Times and Ladies' Home Journal, and interviews with Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts. But she loves writing about the OMP most of all.

  1. You have to get to Mackinaw Brewing about 5:00 if you want to get in without waiting. It fills up fast after that. We went last night and one other time at 5:00 and didn’t have a problem.
Have never been to Poppycock’s. How was the food?
