I stopped by Haserot Beach today and grabbed this pic of Old Mission Point with the long lens. There’s a sidewalk that runs from Haserot out along the bay on Old Mission Resort, but rumor has it that only residents and people with Native American heritage can use it. I forget who told me that. My dad maybe.

Anyway, my husband Tim has Native American blood in his family history, so I think we’re good there.

I grew up just down the beach to the south, and my sister Carol used to babysit out on the resort. My brothers would take the boat over to pick her up, and sometimes my mom let me ride along (what was she thinking?).

We’re not talking a big boat like you see on the bay these days. This was a little rowboat with an unreliable 5-hp Johnson motor. We did have oars, though, so there’s that.
