On the space that once occupied St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (corner of Center Road and Blue Water Road), there’s a beautiful lavender patch that’s part of Brys Estate Vineyard & Winery, just up Blue Water Road on the left.
I talked with Eileen Brys at Old Mission Women’s Club during the winter, and she said the lavender is part of their “Secret Garden.” From their website:

“The Secret Garden at Brys Estate consists of 10 acres devoted to lavender, a fresh flower garden, a strawberry patch, a blueberry patch, an herb garden and more! Guests can enjoy strolling the garden, picnic areas and browsing a variety of handmade lavender products in the farmhouse-inspired garden shop with a wrap around porch.”
