Cherries are starting to ripen on the Old Mission Peninsula, which means you can find locally-grown cherries at the roadside stands. I stopped by my friend Wendy Warren’s roadside stand, “Between the Bays: Warren Orchards,” and snapped this photo of some lovely plump cherries – straight off their farm.
Read more about Between the Bays on their website, and be sure to stop by and grab some beautiful cherries, Saskatoon berries, strawberries, jams, maple syrup, honey (even cherry honey!), farm fresh eggs, and other produce in season during the summer and fall – including fabulous pies and breads made from scratch by Wendy. (I can confirm they’re the best!)

They have two roadside stands – one at 8169 Center Rd. (on the left just past Peninsula Fire Station #2 as you’re coming out of Traverse City) and another at 2705 Island View Road.
