Happy Birthday, National Park Service! I would love to tool around the country and visit all the National Parks one day soon, but until then, there’s a gorgeous one right in my back yard. Well, in the next county over anyway. Here are a few photos from beautiful Pyramid Point in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
These are from last year, which reminds me that we haven’t been out that way yet this year. Must venture in that direction.

August 25, 2016 marks the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the National Park Service. On this date 100 years ago, President Woodrow Wilson signed the act that created the federal agency dedicated to the preservation of the National Park System.
Caretakers of more than 400 National Park Service units today, the service stands strong in its commitment to, in the words of the National Parks Service Organic Act of August 25, 1916, “conserve the scenery and the natural and historic objects and the wildlife therein and to provide for the enjoyment of the same in such manner and by such means as will leave them unimpaired for future generations.”
