A home under construction on Center Road was destroyed by a fire last night around 1:30 a.m.
According to Up North Live, the home was under construction and no one was living there at the time of the fire, although the electricity was on. By the time the Peninsula Township Fire Department arrived, 50 percent of the home was already engulfed in flames.

The Fire Department and Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Department are investigating.
For Peninsula Township residents, this home was directly to the south of Dave Edmondson’s farm stand on Center Road, near the intersection of Center Road and Island View Road, sort of tucked back into the trees.
While the home is a total loss, the garage next to it is still standing.
