I love it when the grape sweaters come out in the fall. I’m not sure of their exact purpose, but I’m guessing it keeps the birds from eating the grapes on the vines through the fall. Or maybe it keeps them warm. Someone in the know can fill us in, in the comments below.

They’re pretty, though, aren’t they? Like beautiful wedding dresses adorning the vineyards throughout the Old Mission Peninsula.

These particular veils are on the vineyards around Brys Estate Vineyard & Winery on Blue Water Road.
