Here’s a picturesque old Kroupa barn, on Kroupa Road, of course. To get there, head north on Center Road, take a left on Kroupa Road, and go a couple miles to where the road takes a sharp left. This barn is on the left there.
I’m trying to remember which Kroupa lived in the house on the corner – if someone knows, tell us in the comments below.
Oh, and to anyone who hasn’t lived here very long, you pronounce “Kroupa” with a long “o.” People tend to pronounce it like “Krupa.”
I think Fred Kroupa lived there. Tom was his son??could be wrong. It has been 46 years since I lived full time John Kroupa’s uncle lived there .
Fred! Yes, that sounds right. And was his wife’s name Mary? Or Dorothy? So I’m thinking Don and Fred were brothers then…?
Fred and Dorothy Kroupa lived there. Karen Wood and Mike are their children.
Thanks, Georgia! I seem to remember Mom referring to this Dorothy as “Dorothy Fred,” so was there another Dorothy Kroupa, too?
Not sure of wife’s name. Fred and Don were brothers. Sent from my iPhone
Thanks, Kathy!
