There may be a chill in the air, but things are still rockin’ at Buchan’s Blueberry Hill! Pick-your-own blueberries are now free – yes, free! – just bring your own container.
They also offer their own apple cider, home-made ice cream in assorted flavors (my personal favorite is the blueberry – it’s heavenly), fresh baked pies and pastries, as well as jams and jellies.

And it’s a great time to take a drive out from town or around the neighborhood, because the colors are really gorgeous. I predict this weekend we’ll have peak color.
Ben and Lori Buchan (that’s Lori, pictured above) are currently the 5th generation to own and operate the farm. Major props to the Buchan’s for continuing the farming tradition. Ben’s sister LaVonda was in my class in school. Love this family.
Buchan’s Blueberry Hill is located at 1472 Nelson Road on the Old Mission Peninsula (about seven miles out Peninsula Drive). For more info on products, history and market hours, visit their website.
