As noted previously on this site, I always think of this barn as Louie Kauer’s barn (I really should stop and introduce myself sometime and see who actually lives there now – or if it’s your barn, tell us in the comments below). It’s on Peninsula Drive, across from the Township cemetery, about a half-mile south of Kroupa Road.
Louie’s’ big draft horses used to get loose and wander across the swamp to eat the apples on what we call “The 40,” part of the family farm where my grandma, Stella Johnson, lived.

Anyway, I love how picturesque this barn is, especially during the holidays with that lovely wreath, little American Flyer sled, and lights along the fence-line. See the full picture here.
