Today’s Photo of the Day is courtesy of these handsome turkeys on the Kroupa property next to us. Some of you may remember my old friend Mr. Gobbles (or rather, Mrs. Gobbles, as Tony Andrus pointed out to me), but her last appearance at my bird feeders was several years ago. I don’t know the lifespan of a turkey, but I’m guessing she’s not around anymore.

She’s the only turkey who’s ever come to my bird feeders, but I hope they all know they’re welcome. The closest they’ve come is about 100 yards behind our house, which is where these were right before this photo was taken and they gobbled their way through the woods, across the stream and into the field down by Bluff Road.
