Today’s Photo of the Day is courtesy of Curt Peterson, who sent along this gorgeous photo of the sunrise on the morning of the Bayshore Marathon (you know, the one I didn’t quite make it down the driveway in time to get many photos). Curt’s photo is of East Bay and the Bluffs on Bluff Road, taken from the intersection of Eagle’s Landing. It was a treat for him, as he lives on the other side of the Peninsula and sees a lot of the sunsets.
Curt was part of the VASA station along the Bayshore Marathon course. As Lisa Taylor, executive director of the Traverse City Track Club, noted when I spoke with her before the race, these stations and the folks who man them are a valued part of the Bayshore Marathon.

Thank you, Curt, for the photo, and thank you to your VASA team for being part of the Bayshore Marathon! Here they are…

We so thank the residents of Eagles Landing, some who helped with our Vasa Ski Club aid station this year and last. Thanks so much for allowing us to use your private property in this wonderful event for our peninsula. I do so remember last year when it was so hot, more than this year, when you local residents filled up 5 gallon water jugs when our aid station was running low of water. Thank you so much. Regards, Curt Peterson…. Vasa Ski Club Board member
Thanks for the note, Curt. We really do have a great community that’s always willing to jump in and help.
