The blossoms on the Old Mission Peninsula are officially blessed, thanks to the annual Blessing of the Blossoms which took place at Chateau Chantal on May 14, 2017. We even had royalty present, as National Cherry Queen Abbey Kaufman was there, along with Kat Paye, Executive Director of the National Cherry Festival.
Abbey is the daughter of Jim and Renee Kaufman of Traverse City, Michigan, and is sponsored by Bonobo Winery on the Old Mission Peninsula. She is studying Special Education with a Concentration in Cognitive Impairments and Elementary Education at Central Michigan University.
