Nancy Davy sent along this photo of a turtle she spotted on Neahtawanta Road. It looks positively neanderthal to me.
“It probably crawled out of that marshy swale just south of Pyatt Lake,” she says.

I need to start following Nancy around with my camera, because I hardly ever see a turtle on the Old Mission Peninsula. Or tree toads, for that matter.
Anyone know what kind of turtle this might be?
