We stopped by the Boursaw farmhouse (corner of Boursaw Road and Bluff Road) to check out the little lagoon in front of the house. There hasn’t been much water there for years, but the water is so high this year that there is now water in that lagoon (and the beaches around the Old Mission Peninsula are smaller than normal).
There’s also a wooden fence next to the lagoon with some gorgeous old-fashioned roses climbing all over it. Perfect for today’s Photo of the Day installment.

The farmhouse is where my husband Tim’s dad (Tug Boursaw) and his siblings grew up. Their parents were Garrett and Clarissa Boursaw, and they once owned the farm where “The 81 on East Bay” development is currently in motion (read the latest on that here). The family sold the property in the 1960s.
If you see our nephew Garrett Boursaw around town – he works at Ford Insurance Agency and is currently busy running logistics for the National Cherry Festival this week – you can tell him you know where he got his name!
