A great time was had by all at Lorey Kroupa’s surprise retirement party on Friday. As we announced last week, Lorey has officially retired from selling flowers at Lorey’s Harbor Station by Bowers Harbor. So a neighbor, Bill Harper, organized a gathering called “Fill the Station With Flowers,” inviting folks to bring flowers to the station to celebrate the many years Lorey has brought gorgeous flowers to the Old Mission Peninsula.

When Lorey’s wife, Marge, drove him up to the station, he saw all of us there waiting to celebrate with him. (Rumor has it he was a little worried about all those people on this stand until he figured out what was going on!)

We’ll miss seeing Lorey at the station, but he deserves to chill out and take it easy. He’s been doing it for 45 years, after all! Thanks for bringing cheery flowers to us all these years, Lorey.
