Photo of the Day: Netting the Grapes at Brys Estate

It’s that time of year when the vineyards on the Old Mission Peninsula get to put on their grape sweaters. Or as I mentioned last year, lovely wedding gowns.

As noted in the video below from Brys Estate Vineyard & Winery (also where the above photo was taken), the netting helps to keep the critters from feasting on the lovely grapes.

It’s quite the process to watch, as the workers cover the grapes with their cozy sweater nets. A machine is driven down each row between the grapes, as the netting is gently draped over the grapes.
