If you don’t have other plans for Thanksgiving dinner, why not gather with your friends and neighbors for a free Thanksgiving dinner? No cooking, no cleanup, no fuss. Just relax and enjoy a great turkey dinner with your friends and neighbors.

The free community dinner is hosted by the Old Mission Peninsula United Methodist Church (OMPUMC) and includes a traditional turkey dinner with all the fixins’. It’s a free event, but to help the church crew plan better, please RSVP with the number of people who will be attending at (231) 223-4393.

Melody Olin, the pastor at OMPUMC, says she and her husband Denny love organizing the meal. “Denny and I choose to stay and feed our community instead of going to be with our family for Thanksgiving,” she says, “and through this we are greatly blessed and wish to bless others.”

She adds, “This is a great way to serve our community by offering a meal for those who are alone, those who don’t have the funds for a dinner, and for those who just want to come and enjoy food and fellowship with others.”

The dinner will take place on Thanksgiving, Nov. 23, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the church, 16426 Center Road on the Old Mission Peninsula.

If you’d like to help out at the dinner, call Denny at (231) 409-6241.
