Many thanks to Ginny Coulter (owner of Old Mission Flowers) for texting me on her way home from town to alert me about a snowy owl at Winery Hill (Chateau Grand Traverse).
I grabbed my camera and headed up there, and amazingly, the owl was still sitting where Ginny saw it, on the roof of the Carroll house (right side of Center Road as you’re heading north).

I walked down the Carroll’s driveway and grabbed a few pictures there, then the owl flew over to a phone pole on the other side of the road, then back to the house again.
I’ve been trying to get a shot of a snowy owl for, well, forever, so Ginny’s text totally made my day!
If you see things around the neighborhood – cool birds, barns being roofed, etc. – please call or text me, (231) 590-4715, or email me, [email protected], and I’ll head right over to get the story and photos. Thank you!
