At tonight’s regular meeting of the Peninsula Township Planning Commission, the commission will consider adopting the “Findings of Fact” in connection with a new building for the Peninsula Community Library, to be built on 5.25 acres on the corner of Center Road and Island View Road.

Following a public hearing at the Jan. 22 Planning Commission meeting, the commission voted unanimously to direct the Township Planner to write up the “Findings of Fact” to be reviewed at tonight’s meeting.

If approved, the commission will likely also approve the Special Use Permit for construction of the new library. The Special Use Permit will then move to the Township Board level, where another public hearing will be scheduled.

Also on the agenda for tonight’s meeting:

  • Year End Report – Discussion
  • Floodplain and wetlands public hearing
  • Escrow discussion – set public hearing
  • Continued discussion of Junk Ordinance and Short Term Rentals (Isaiah Wunsch)

The meeting will be held tonight at 7 p.m. at the Peninsula Township Hall, 13235 Center Road on the Old Mission Peninsula.
