It’s about that time again. That time of year everyone in northern Michigan waits impatiently for – when Bardon’s Wonder Freeze opens for the season on the corner of Front and Garfield in Traverse City.

While it’s not open quite yet, the Bardon’s crew is getting things ready – putting the picnic tables out, taking the boards off the windows, and giving us much-needed hope that Spring is right around the corner.

After I got my first car – a 1974 VW Bug inherited from my brother Ward – I used to stop there with my dog Jennifer and buy her a Barbecue and myself a mint shake. Good times.

Rumor has it they might open for the season on April 1. See you there.
