Today’s Photo of the Day is courtesy of this group of Stand Up Paddleboarders (SUP) on West Bay. I’m not sure where they were headed, but they were out there a ways, on the south end of Power Island. I counted more than a dozen folks paddling happily into the sunset.
Regular readers of Old Mission Gazette know I’m keen on kayaking, but SUP’ing is on my list of things to try at some point. Part of the appeal of kayaking is the ability to lug my camera along so I can shoot photos of the shoreline and any birds and sea life, and hopefully not dunk my camera into the bay in the process. I don’t think I’d try that on a SUP, though.

Were you in this group of SUPers on West Bay a couple nights ago? What’s it like out there? Where were you headed? Across the bay? Was it choppy? It looked a little choppy to me.
