It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. At least, today it is, as I look out my office window and see my little office-mates snuffling through the snow to get to the seed on the birdfeeder.
If my calculations are correct, Christmas is 20 days away, and I’m not sure how that happened. It seems like just a few days ago I was dragging my kayak off the beach, launching it into East Bay on a warm summer day and waving at my neighbors Pat and Deb as I paddled by. And now it’s December. What the ever-loving heck?!

At any rate, if you’re wondering what to get your friends and family for the holidays – or any time of year! – we’ve got the goods at the Gazette’s online store, OMPstore.com. Your purchases help to support a small family business devoted to the Old Mission Peninsula (that would be us), and also keep the Gazette chugging along.
And be sure and follow the new OMPstore Facebook page (launched at long last) and Instagram account (ditto).
We’re adding new products all the time (including heavyweight tees – you asked, we deliver), and the best way to keep in-the-know on those is probably to follow the Facebook page. Also, items need to be ordered through OMPstore.com, as I don’t have a warehouse full of products here on Bluff Road (though that would be fun, wouldn’t it?).

SUPPORT YOUR INDEPENDENT LOCAL NEWSPAPER: I started Old Mission Gazette in 2015 because I felt a calling to provide the Old Mission Peninsula community with local news. After decades of writing for newspapers and magazines like the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Family Circle and Ladies' Home Journal, I really just wanted to write about my own community where I grew up on a cherry farm and raised my own family. So I started my own newspaper.
Because Old Mission Gazette is a "Reader Supported Newspaper" -- meaning it exists because of your financial support -- I hope you'll consider tossing a few bucks our way if I mention your event, your business, your organization or your news item, or if you simply love reading about what's happening on the OMP. In a time when local news is becoming a thing of the past, supporting an independent community newspaper is more important now than ever. Thank you so much for your support! -Jane Boursaw, Editor/Publisher, Old Mission Gazette
