Old Mission Peninsula School is seeking community volunteers to help with a couple of upcoming events:

CARDBOARD SLED RACE: The 2019 OMPS Cardboard Sled Race is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 1, at 3:15 p.m. Kids will race their handmade cardboard and duct tape sleds down the infamous OMPS Hill (helmets and a signed waiver are required to race). A potluck will follow inside. If your last name starts with A-M, bring a dessert; N-Z bring a savory dish. To help out at the sled race, email Debra Hartley,

WINTER CARNIVAL: Their 2nd Annual Winter Carnival will be held on Friday, Feb. 22, 5:30 p.m. – 8 p.m., and they need you! Grab your friends, grandparents, neighbors, middle and high schoolers to take on a volunteer shift.

Know of a community group (honor society, student council, 4-H, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, etc,) that needs volunteer hours? Let the school know, and they’ll sign them up. Volunteers will also receive four game tickets per shift. The carnival will feature games, a cake walk, balloon animals, cotton candy, snow cones, food and lots of FUN! Sign up here to help out at the carnival.

Feel free to call the school with any questions, (231) 252-0225.
