Winter is my favorite time of year to hang out at Mission Point Lighthouse, today’s Photo of the Day. There’s not a lot of people there (only two other cars today), and I love the desolate cold stretch of beach and beautifully snowy trails.
And there’s something about the lighthouse in the snow that’s amazing in every way (look close and you’ll see holiday lights in the tower).

Mission Point Lighthouse itself is closed until spring – May 1 – but the trails are open, and I highly recommend getting out there in whatever way you love – skis, snowshoes, hiking…
We hiked today, and the hiking is still good. Not a lot of snow on the trails at this juncture.
