Today’s Photo of the Day is courtesy of an almost buried M37 South sign near the intersection of Center Road (aka M37) and Old Mission Road.
I grew up just around the corner on Old Mission Road and drove by this sign every day of my life growing up. It’s a section of road that’s notorious for mammoth drifts, and this winter is no exception. It really reminds me of the winters we used to have back when I was a kid (and boy, do I sound old saying that!).

I don’t know if they were extra snowy or just seemed that way because I was a kid. They sure seemed extra snowy, though. And the bay froze over every year! Ok, maybe not, but it sure did seem that way.
At any rate, today’s photo gets extra bonus points in the irony department, seeing that it’s M37 SOUTH and we’ve now reached that part of winter when even the most diehard snow fans think about getting on M37 and heading south to sunny parts unknown.
Below is another version after the snowplow went through.
