Yes, there are bikers out there, and skiers and skaters and snowmobilers and people walking their dogs and hiking to Power Island and fishing through little holes in the ice. So much ice.
It’s like this big new playground has opened up, and people are definitely taking advantage of it.
However, as Peninsula Fire Department reminds us on their Facebook page, just because the bay is frozen over doesn’t mean it’s safe. Have fun, and make good choices!
We need your support...
At a time when newspapers across the country are dying in droves, small community newspapers like Old Mission Gazette are the wave of the future. Owners Tim and Jane Boursaw are devoted to the Old Mission Peninsula community, and our editorial independence means we set our own agenda and voice our own opinions. But we need your ongoing support to keep delivering Old Mission Peninsula news, history, photos and more. We rely on generous reader support to keep doing what we do, and every contribution, big or small, is valuable. Click HERE to support Old Mission Gazette. Thank you!
