The 5th Annual Bay Street Parade, aka the Old Mission Parade, is happening this Sunday, June 30, 2019, at 1 p.m. in the village of Old Mission. You’re welcome to be part of the parade or just come by and cheer on the participants.
No registration is required, and if you’d like to be part of the parade, line up at 12:30 p.m. at 18805 Bay Street in the village of Old Mission (The Norton’s house – right across from Haserot Beach).
Old Mission Gazette is Reader Supported.

The parade will begin at 1 p.m. sharp, heading down Bay Street to Woodland Road, left on Traverse Street and ending at the American Legion Hall. There will be a special acknowledgement to veterans and military service members.
If you haven’t been to this fun parade in the previous four years, you must check it out. It’s a blast, with really creative parade entries that include kids on bikes, grownups on tractors and motorcycles, sweet dogs in costumes and even horses traveling the parade route. It’s a wonderful slice of home-town Americana.
If you have questions, feel free to call or text Connie Parliament, (989) 387-3822.
Also, don’t forget that Log Cabin Day is also on June 30, so after the parade, go check out the Dougherty House and Hessler Log Cabin. More info here.

A NOTE FROM JANE: I started Old Mission Gazette in 2015 because I felt a calling to provide the Old Mission Peninsula community with local news. After decades of writing for newspapers and magazines like the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Family Circle and Ladies' Home Journal, I really just wanted to write about my own community where I grew up on a cherry farm and raised my own family. So I started my own newspaper. Because the Gazette is mainly reader-supported, I hope you'll consider tossing a few bucks my way if I mention your event, your business, your organization or your news item, or if you simply love reading about what's happening on the OMP. Check out the donation page here. Thank you so much for your support. -jb
