Photo of the Day: Stylish Scarecrows on Center Road

Every time I drive past the King’s garden on Center Road, I find myself wishing they’d come over and take over my yard and garden. Their beautiful garden is the pride of the Old Mission Peninsula – always so tidy and bounteous!

And it’s always fun to see what their scarecrows will be wearing each year. This year, the garden couple is decked out in the finest attire – a lovely dress for the gal and a handsome suit for the guy, not to mention cool shades, dapper hats and patriotic accessories.

Check out these charming scarecrows the next time you’re driving north on Center Road, just past the Bluff Road intersection on the right.

A lifelong resident of the Old Mission Peninsula, Jane grew up on a cherry farm (Johnson Farms), married the boy next door (Tim Boursaw), and raised two kids there (Will and Marissa). Her 35-year career as a photojournalist includes bylines with the New York Times and Ladies' Home Journal, and interviews with Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts. But she loves writing about the OMP most of all.
