There’s been a lot of buzz this past week about the brand new Peninsula Community Library, now open for business on the corner of Center Road and Island View Road.
See photos of the Grand Opening here, and photos of the special reception for major donors here. This project is the epitome of a community effort, and I’m so excited that it’s now open for everyone to use. Truly a gift to the Old Mission Peninsula community.

And apparently, we’re not the only ones thrilled about the new library. Gazette reader and Peninsula resident Dave Merrell sent along this photo of a flock of seagulls lined up on the roof of the library.
They’re probably “waiting for their new library cards,” says Dave. No doubt! Thanks for sending along this great photo, Dave.
