If you’re heading north on Center Road, look towards the field on the right just past the Seven Hills Road intersection, and chances are good that you’ll see some turkeys there. Or possibly a family of turkeys, like the handsome flock featured in today’s Photo of the Day.

We’ve not seen a lot of turkeys at our house on Bluff Road lately, not since the glory days of Mr. Gobbles, the turkey who hung around our bird feeders one winter, and then proceeded to come back the next two winters. I’m afraid to think what might have happened to Mr. Gobbles, but it’s been quite a few years since we’ve seen him. I’m guessing he’s gone to that big turkey field in the sky by now.

But thankfully, we can get our turkey fix with the flock that’s usually camped out in that big field on Center Road or elsewhere around the Peninsula. Here are some a few years back, roaming around the orchards on Blue Water Road.
