Photo of the Day: DeLoreans at the Old Mission General Store

A herd of DeLoreans have been tooling around northern Michigan this past week, and John Scarbrough (president of the Old Mission Peninsula Historical Society, among other things) snapped this photo of them at the Old Mission General Store.

While I’m not sure if they’re part of a driving club or what, I’m guessing it might be related to the fact that the Bay Theatre in Suttons Bay has been playing “Framing John DeLorean,” a documentary about rise and fall of the iconic automaker.

They also had a panel discussion with DeLorean Chief Engineer Bill Collins, Engineer Robert Manion and Don Sherman from Car and Driver.

Thanks to John Scarbrough for sending this great Photo of the Day along.

P.S. I wonder if the drivers had to wait until precisely 10:04 p.m. on Saturday night for a bolt of lightning to strike the clock tower and channel it into the flux capacitor…

A lifelong resident of the Old Mission Peninsula, Jane grew up on a cherry farm (Johnson Farms), married the boy next door (Tim Boursaw), and raised two kids there (Will and Marissa). Her 35-year career as a photojournalist includes bylines with the New York Times and Ladies' Home Journal, and interviews with Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts. But she loves writing about the OMP most of all.
