Today’s Photo of the Day is courtesy of the Veterans War Memorial at Mission Point Lighthouse. If you drive out Center Road (M37) to the very end, the memorial is located in a little circle of land at the very end of the road by the Lighthouse.
The memorial is dedicated to all the veterans from the Old Mission Peninsula, and if you’ve lived out here for a while, chances are good you’ve got some relatives listed there.
Old Mission Gazette is Reader Supported.

Tim and I have a few, including his dad Tug Boursaw (WWII), my dad Walter Johnson (WWII), my uncle Guy Johnson (WWII), and my grandma Stella Johnson’s first husband, Frank Edgecomb (WWI).
Here are a few photos of the memorial with the veterans listed there. Also, be sure and check out photos from the lovely Veterans Day celebration that took place at Old Mission Peninsula School this morning.
