After Mom’s memorial service yesterday – a beautiful and joyful celebration of her long and happy life – Tim and I drove around the Old Mission Peninsula, because that’s what we do in times of grief and joy. No matter what’s going on in our lives, it’s always comforting to just drive around the OMP.
And as always, we spotted something very cool – in this case, a pair of eagles on the west end of Swaney Road. We had just passed Ted Ayers barn heading west and I said “Eagles!” before we were even close enough to see if that’s what they were and not a big branch or large clump of leaves.
They sat there and posed for me for a few minutes before flying west into the woods around the Illini Association. Thanks to these handsome eagles for cheering us and being today’s Photo of the Day.
