Well, you just never know, do you? All winter, I checked the poles every time I drove down Blue Water Road – which, since I live on Bluff Road, is several times a day. Didn’t see a single Snowy Owl there all winter, even though that’s been a favorite spot in year’s past – here’s my pal from 2018.
Then on my way home yesterday, I spotted one on a pole just east of Nancy Heller’s house. Just hanging out there looking for dinner. The only other owl I’ve seen this year is the one on Center Road near Old Mission Tavern. In fact, I see him there just about every time I drive through the area.

So even if winter is almost over. Even if the temps are warming up. Even if you haven’t seen a Snowy Owl in the place where you’ve seen them in previous years, you just never know. Keep checking those poles, because one might be hanging out there when you least expect it.

Just saw her/him the other night too on BW. Flew low right in front of me at dusk. Scared the bageebers out of me 🙂
