While we’re in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the story of Good Friday and Easter Sunday is playing out on the lawn in front of Old Mission Peninsula United Methodist Church.
Today’s Photo of the Day is courtesy of the church; Pam and Rocko Fouch, who installed the display; and Wendy Warren, who sent me the photos. The display features an angel and cross, lit up for beautiful viewing at dusk, along with a crown of thorns, signifying Jesus’ journey to the cross, and the word “Perspective” on the sign.

Rumor has it that there might be a rock there today, signifying when Jesus was placed in the tomb after death. And I’m guessing there might be a beautiful symbol of hope and love there by tomorrow.
I’m a lifelong member of the church, and we had a lovely Good Friday service via Zoom yesterday. I hope wherever you worship gives you options to “be together,” even as we’re social distancing. It makes a world of difference in our daily lives as we’re all social distancing.
If you’re out driving around the OMP to get out of the house, drive by and check out the display – at dusk, if you can make that happen. The church is located at 16426 Center Road.
Thank you to all who made this display happen. Happy Easter Weekend to all of our Old Mission Gazette readers.
