The folks from the Old Mission American Legion and Community Hall have decided to stay closed for the foreseeable future, due to ongoing concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Since we feel that we cannot comfortably meet the guidelines for food establishments, we will stay closed for our monthly dinners until we feel we can re-open,” notes Mary Shultz, who helps to organize the dinners and hall rental.

Their annual Pig Roast fundraiser in August is also canceled, unless things change significantly enough for them to be able to handle the crowd.

However, the twice-monthly dinners and annual pig roast are major fundraisers for the Old Mission Legion, which operates out of the building. They still have monthly bills to pay, so if you would like to make a donation to help support the building and the Legion’s mission of supporting retired and active veterans, it will be gratefully appreciated.

Mail donations to: American Legion, P.O. Box 39, Old Mission, MI, 49673. If you would like a tax deduction form, you may request one at the time and they will send one to you.
