I’ve been slacking on my Photo of the Day posts lately, so here’s one. A few days ago, we stopped by Winery Hill at sunset to see if I could get a photo of the Comet Neowise.
I’ve been unsuccessful on that score! Partly because by the time the comet is visible, I’m usually too tired to drag myself to a hilltop for a photo. Also, the mosquitoes love me. And I don’t have a super-long (super expensive) lens on my camera that would pick it up. But it’s been fun seeing all my photographer buddies posting their amazing photos on Facebook.

However, the sunset on Winery Hill that night was stunning, so there you go. I drive by it every day, and some days you just have to stop and be overwhelmed with the view.
“Winery Hill” is the scenic turnout near Chateau Grand Traverse on Center Road. One of those “Inside OMP” locales, like the Hogsback and the Cut-Across.
