Secret Garden at Brys Estate is donating a portion of their sales today and tomorrow, July 9 and 10, to benefit the charitable causes of the Old Mission Women’s Club.

The gift shop, which is part of Brys Estate Vineyard and Winery, is located at 3309 Blue Water Road. When you turn into the Estate, there’s a road that goes right to Secret Garden. The road to the left goes to the winery’s tasting room.

This fundraiser does not include sales made in Secret Garden’s online store or at the Brys Estate Tasting Room, so this is a great time to visit the gift shop in person. As we mentioned a few days ago, the lavender is in bloom, and it’s a beautiful drive, whether you live on the Peninsula or elsewhere.

The Old Mission Women’s Club is a local non-profit organization formed in 1931, designed exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. Each year, they donate funds to help a variety of local causes.

“We love the work they do, and we look forward to showing our support every summer,” says Secret Garden on their Facebook page. “We’d love to see you and would appreciate your business!”

Secret Garden is also celebrating their fifth year in business, so a big congrats on that milestone!

SUPPORT YOUR INDEPENDENT LOCAL NEWSPAPER: I started Old Mission Gazette in 2015 because I felt a calling to provide the Old Mission Peninsula community with local news. After decades of writing for newspapers and magazines like the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Family Circle and Ladies' Home Journal, I really just wanted to write about my own community where I grew up on a cherry farm and raised my own family. So I started my own newspaper.

Because Old Mission Gazette is a "Reader Supported Newspaper" -- meaning it exists because of your financial support -- I hope you'll consider tossing a few bucks our way if I mention your event, your business, your organization or your news item, or if you simply love reading about what's happening on the OMP. In a time when local news is becoming a thing of the past, supporting an independent community newspaper is more important now than ever. Thank you so much for your support! -Jane Boursaw, Editor/Publisher, Old Mission Gazette
