I posted about this in a recent news roundup, but wanted to make sure everyone saw it. Because, as in previous years, it’s a don’t-miss event.

The Old Mission Women’s Club is hosting their 25th Annual Christmas Cookie Sale on Saturday, Dec. 10, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Peninsula Township Hall, 13235 Center Road (they sell out fast, though, so get there early).

Old Mission Gazette is Reader Supported.

As in past years, there will be a large assortment of delicious and elegant holiday cookies, decorated sugar cookies, gluten-free cookies and treats, truffles, candies and quick breads. There will even be some holiday treats for your furry family members.

Cookies are $10/lb., paid for by cash, check or credit card. Truffles, candies, quick breads and doggy treats are priced separately. Decorated containers are provided, along with gloves for safe handling.

All the proceeds from the cookie sale go to the club’s charitable projects right here in our community. (Full disclosure: I’m a member and they do a LOT of good works in the community. The club began in 1931 and is still going strong.)

SUPPORT YOUR INDEPENDENT LOCAL NEWSPAPER: I started Old Mission Gazette in 2015 because I felt a calling to provide the Old Mission Peninsula community with local news. After decades of writing for newspapers and magazines like the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Family Circle and Ladies' Home Journal, I really just wanted to write about my own community where I grew up on a cherry farm and raised my own family. So I started my own newspaper.

Because Old Mission Gazette is a "Reader Supported Newspaper" -- meaning it exists because of your financial support -- I hope you'll consider tossing a few bucks our way if I mention your event, your business, your organization or your news item, or if you simply love reading about what's happening on the OMP. In a time when local news is becoming a thing of the past, supporting an independent community newspaper is more important now than ever. Thank you so much for your support! -Jane Boursaw, Editor/Publisher, Old Mission Gazette
