Vicki Shurly, Director of Peninsula Community Library, sent along a note that they have a job opening at the library. These do not pop up very often, so if you’re interested or know someone who is, contact Vicki. Read on for details and deadline.
From Vicki…
Old Mission Gazette is Reader Supported.

A very rare opportunity is available at Peninsula Community Library to join the special family that is library staff. The schedule being offered is Wednesday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., and the fourth Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable with computers and everyday technology, organized, patient, able to think creatively, and most importantly at PCL, good with people of all ages. It is not necessary to have library experience, as we will offer training.
The ideal candidate will also have a flexible schedule and a willingness to sub when needed. The hourly wage is $17/hour, and staff freely trade hours as needed for time off.
The benefits? Working in a great environment where your community loves you! Inquiries will not be accepted by phone or in person. Please send a resume and cover letter to Vicki Shurly via email, [email protected], by December 5. PCL is a great place to work!

A NOTE FROM JANE: I started Old Mission Gazette in 2015 because I felt a calling to provide the Old Mission Peninsula community with local news. After decades of writing for newspapers like the New York Times and Los Angeles Times, and magazines like Family Circle and Ladies' Home Journal, I really just wanted to write about my own community where I grew up on a cherry farm and raised my own family. So of course, I started my own newspaper. Because the Gazette is mainly reader-supported, I hope you'll consider tossing a few bucks my way if I mention your event, your business, your organization or your news item, or if you simply love reading about what's happening on the Old Mission Peninsula. Check out the donation page here. Thank you so much for your support. -jb
